Fire Nebula Syndicate Location Data
True Story of the Atruss Incident
At the behest of the leader of Torchin, the forces of the Free Traders League entered into battle with the Dark Coalition above Torchin. During this battle the New Republic arrived and began firing into the battle, damaging several FTL ships while missing their intended targets (the DC vessels). Tam decided to disengage from the battle and return to Betus (HQ of the FTL), only to find that once our forces arrived the Atruss System Corporation had decided to renege on the leaseholder contract. This was due to the ASC having a severe shortage of transports due to piracy.
Tam ordered the civilian population to begin evacuation, and the dismantling of all assets that could be moved. Then began to ready several traps for the would be invaders. With the shortage of transports, the ASC took several weeks to begin moving troops, giving the FTL enough time to get practically all assets and personnel out of the area. But Tam had laid a devious trap. Adjusting several thousand scanner packs to emit life form readings, he lured the Corporate troops into the deserted settlement on Betus. Once sensors determined that the majority of forces where within a set radius of the settlement, Tam ordered the bombardment of that area. After 30 minutes of concentrated fire all that was left was a glass crater... and almost 10,000 vaporized Corporate troops.
The FTL fleet immediately jumped out of the Atruss System and Sector, into the adjoining Menthar Sector. Having previously found the MG-38 system. Using various contacts in the Menthar Sector capital, Tam acquired ownership of the abandoned mining system. Thus Diosha was born, and Sanctuary City.
Location Data
This data is for GM use only. Unless a Branch GM gives a player this info In Character, the player does not know this information. Or unless a character that is in this organization, which has access to this information, tells another character.
Location:
MG-38 system, Menthar Sector, Outer
Rim Territories.
The Fire Nebula Syndicate has established a
mining/refining colony on Diosha (3rd planet of the MG-38 system), and taken
possession of the gutted FireStar battle station that orbits the planet. Though
the station needs extensive renovation (Nearly completed, and updated to more
current standards). Once settled into Diosha the syndicate
decided to expand the shipbuilding capacity of the KDY Deep Dock, taking the
dock as a basis for the new Medium Size Shipyard now in orbit. The families of
syndicate members and a large group of free spirited miners helped establish the
colony. This gives the colony a very frontier like atmosphere. Syndicate
enforcers keep the peace, though laws are relatively loose on Diosha. The colony
has approximately 450,000 beings, mostly of the afore mentioned peoples, though a
steady trickle of fringers and colonists are arriving every month (and a sudden
increase due to the release of 200,000 Hutt indentured servants).
Diosha is a booming colony, having the FNS supporting
it's growth, and new arrivals have little to fear of criminal activity. All
criminal activity not endorsed by the FNS is crushed quickly and efficiently by
the local enforcers.
Fire Nebula: Located in the Menthar sector, which is approximately 2.5 days travel from the Atruss Sector (formerly the home sector of the Free Traders League, in the Atruss system within that sector) at x1 hyperdrive. Very few hyperspace routes have been charted into the Nebula, and none completely through it. There are believed to be 15 stellar bodies within the nebula, though scouts have only charted routes to 2 of them, MG-4 and MG-17.
Tactical Data:
The only publicly known jump zone into the MG-38 system is 150 units from the planet Diosha (MG-38c).
Notes on travel through the Fire Nebula:
The Fire Nebula is a thick, barely
navigable cloud of gases and charged particles that is avoided by commercial
freighters and passenger ships.
The nebula is a hyperspace navigation hazard, avoided
by all publicly charted hyperlanes. Few beings are willing to try to scout a
route through the nebula, or to any of the systems inside of it, due to
the danger entailed. The Imperial navy attempted to chart several routes through
the nebula 15 years ago, but the scout ships that they sent in either didn't
come back, or came back without much luck.
In the thickest parts of the nebula no hyperspace
travel is possible; the nebula's mass acts as a barrier to hyperspace travel.
Rogue asteroids and uncharted asteroid belts litter the area. In addition, the
nebula is highly electro magnetically active, scrambling sensors and
communications (+5 to +15 to sensors and communications attempts). And ion
storms are known to occur frequently (roll D6 on a 1 on the roll during a trip
through the nebula an ion storm strikes), these storms can disable ships for
minutes to hours (1D to 10D ionization, scale varies from walker to capital).
All jumps inside of the nebula are difficult to
calculate (Difficulty of moderate to heroic, varies), due to the shifting gas
clouds, and rogue asteroids.
