A shocking announcement was made today by the people of Adumar. An unscheduled session of the Adumari Union Council, Adumar’s ruling body, met, and emerged with surprising news. Citing a lack of support from the Republic Senate in supporting their regional defense efforts, the Union has decided to secede from the Republic.

Perator Belass ke Teldan of the nation-state of Cartann gave the announcement:

“People of Adumar!”

“The Adumari Union met today, to discuss the future of our world. As all of you know, just a few short years ago, our world was embroiled in a Civil War. Only with the intervention of the New Republic did our world survive, and begin to flourish, for the first time, under a unified world government.”

“Out of gratitude we joined the New Republic. We knew that they were in a massive war with the Galactic Empire, but our world is not a world of cowards, we were more than willing to do our part.”

“You are all also aware of the repeated attacks by the Empire on our space lanes and patrols, many of you have lost family to the small, but constant stream of attacks.”

“Our representative to the New Republic, Waldur ke Maurdon, has repeatedly spoken before the Senate, urging them to take steps to increase security to our world. Each time he was told that the attacks were well within the capability of our local militia to handle. We continued to mount our own defense, sending our pilots out in greater numbers, but the raids and skirmishes only seemed to increase as the years passed.”

INN: Explosion at Chandaar and Political Fallout PDF Print E-mail

CHANDAAR – A vile terrorist act in the capitol of the Cronese Mandate has caused a major power shift between the two competing factions in the Imperial Civil War. Mere minutes before the Mandate was about to verify a series of critically strategic transactions between Ly’can Stormkiller’s Second Imperium and several of the Empire’s top war suppliers, a massive explosion occurred at the Cronese central banking complex; wiping out the main structure and surrounding neighborhoods. The explosion completely disrupted all economic activity and claimed the lives of tens of thousands of beings. The exact death toll is unknown and is still being calculated.

Although no organization has publicly taken responsibility for the attack, both the Cronese Mandate and the Second Imperium have pointed the finger at the elusive “Shadow Imperium” – a yet-to-be-identified group of followers of the late Trask K’tar. The Mandate, who had been neutral in the war up to this point, has officially joined up with Stormkiller in seeking revenge.
